I've made the academic book club scam but what is unsettling about it is just how much academics are expected to pay for small things (illustrations, photos)... Plenty of people must fall for it on that basis. The AI garbling of the book also weird.
I'm not sure 'write the statement for thingy' was the best to do list item I've ever committed to paper. Absolutely no idea.
