I still need someone to tell me how this works engineering-wise... DC is a mostly drained swamp. The arch is supposed to be next to the Potomac. There's nothing I see here that addresses the danger of this arch from sinking into the soil and falling over.
The whole thing has been making be crazy since the start, everyone talking about if it should be built vs if it can be. The Lincoln Memorial has a wide base, and it was tough. The arch would have two posts and so much weight. Am I crazy here?
