Anti-immigration thought being cast as the tendency of "true" nationals in a masc-coded way feels so fucking liberating to hear. That bullshit denies the reality of the experiences of HALF THE CITIZENS OF EVERY NATION! Still reading but I wanted to shout out the praise.

my work has tried to both speak out against the harms to immigrants, refugees, & trans people & also offer better ways of understanding our political circumstances

Unironically this is one of several reasons I think the UK is *worse off* than the US right now; the media is worse (and the US sets a low bar as it is), along with so many other guardrails that it feels like there's basically *no* brakes on what's happening in Britain.
Buttigieg: Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that there have to be nine Supreme Court justices. That one doesn't even take a constitutional amendment. It just takes a readiness to set up a court that fits this country.
