Morning settles softly on the pond’s glass skin,
While distant geese stitch quiet songs across the air.
The sky drifts in the water, broken only by slow ripples,
A fleeting peace that shimmers, then slips beyond our grasp—
Like every refuge humanity seeks in places that cannot stay.

Fluffy white cygnets hatch, tiny and shy,
Safe on mama’s back they ride by.
They eat their fill day by day,
Growing strong along the way,
Full-grown by three months, proud and spry.
