Angus Reid data shows 68% of Canadians want heavy regulation of AI, even if it slows development, and would oppose a large data centre planned near their home. The government is way offside with Canadians on this. Telling them to become “literate” isn’t going to work. angusreid.org/ai-regulatio...

Yep, this. Have been leaning in big time to things that bring me joy so I have the energy to stand up to disinformation and distrust. Watching Big Tech poison public discourse right down to the neighbourhood level is a hell of a thing, but we are not free to desist from the task of standing against.
I’ve reposted this before, but I’m gonna do it again, because I mean- just _watch it_. Wonderful.
More Celebration Station awesomeness on #worldbicycleday! I’ve been commuting by bike year-round for over 15 years now and still get a kick out of it. What do you love about biking? What’s a great story you have from when you’ve been out on two wheels?
Go By Bike Week is ON! Thanks @capitalbike.ca! Always a super fun, inspiring week of events and good vibes. Plus, fruit! 🚲🍌😎

For as long as Harley Rustad can remember, his family has been a soccer family. With the arrival of another World Cup—the first on Canadian soil—he should be swept up in the excitement. But instead of anticipation, he’s wrestling with disillusionment. https://thewalrus.ca/i-love-soccer-i-hate-fifa/

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never felt so challenged to find joy & positivity in the world, thanks to those deliberately working to tear things apart, and those letting it happen. And yet my natural inclination is to find joy in so many things — in cities, challenging work, family and passions.
