Lizard Orchid (Himantoglossum hircinum) at Berrow, Somerset. This species is on the edge of its range in Britain, but appears to be expanding its range, potentially in response to climate change.

Adonis Blue (Polyommatus bellargus), an uncommon butterfly, at Morgan's Hill, Wiltshire. The larvae feed on Horseshoe Vetch. They produce a sugary substance that ants feed on, and the ants protect the larvae in return.

Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis), flowering at Odd Down, Bath. Probably the most common orchid species in the Bath area, it often grows on bare ground and road verges, as well as grasslands.
