50 mm shot of noctilucent clouds to the north above the University of Reading campus at 23:08 BST.
A showery day today, with a particular focus further east for any thunderstorm potential - getting the inkling of another Herne Bay thunder day when looking through 😵💫
Hammering down in Dover a short while ago. Some thunder too!
ECMWF is preparing the release of Ocean ReAnalysis System 6 (ORAS6), its sixth-generation ocean and sea-ice reanalysis system.
This is an important step forward in how past ocean and sea-ice conditions are reconstructed and used in weather and climate monitoring.

Weak #noctilucent #clouds again tonight; sky still a bit too light yet at 22:40 UTC (23:40 Bovine Spongiform Time). Will try again in half an hour or so . . . #UKweather @metoffice.gov.uk @metjam.co.uk @saloplarus.bsky.social
A faint but extensive noctilucent cloud display visible from the University of Reading campus tonight that stretched from the north to the north west up to ~20º - definitely some nice structure in there, but it seemed to compete with nearby cloud. The picture was taken at 22:57 BST at 17 mm.

Oh look, another Herne Bay thunder day when I’m not there.
A particularly intense thunderstorm is moving east and situated just north of Folkestone
Another shout for noctilucent clouds tonight based on the OSWIN radar - keep an eye out this evening or this morning (if you are more of a night owl!).
Noctilucent clouds are beginning to show to the north - view from my camera back home in Herne Bay.
