Intense storm rolling through the Isle of Sheppey at the moment - intense enough to knock the live camera offline.
50 mm shot of noctilucent clouds to the north above the University of Reading campus at 23:08 BST.
ECMWF is preparing the release of Ocean ReAnalysis System 6 (ORAS6), its sixth-generation ocean and sea-ice reanalysis system.
This is an important step forward in how past ocean and sea-ice conditions are reconstructed and used in weather and climate monitoring.

A faint but extensive noctilucent cloud display visible from the University of Reading campus tonight that stretched from the north to the north west up to ~20º - definitely some nice structure in there, but it seemed to compete with nearby cloud. The picture was taken at 22:57 BST at 17 mm.
A showery day today, with a particular focus further east for any thunderstorm potential - getting the inkling of another Herne Bay thunder day when looking through 😵💫

10-15 mm hail fell during the storm that went through Herne Bay between 14:55 and 15:05 BST
A convergence zone has been established through North Kent, with new thunderstorms firing off in a line and may continue to do so over the next hour or so, although it does seem like it's gradually shifting south. The heaviest cells may mean some areas could see an inch of rain.

11 mm of rain in an hour at Manston with a drop of 5.1ºC from 14.3ºC at 15 BST to 9.2ºC at 16 BST, probably a good fall of hail there alongside the heavy rain too.
