That is what I have been saying since last year. He and his sponsors were/are buying the election and Mills, an actual Mainer not an international merchant with generational wealth connections, could not compete with that kind of money.

Platner’s campaign was far from the “grassroots” narrative and is actually a case of political consultants executing a plan to flood a *small state primary* with enough national cash to overwhelm the field.
And it worked. They bought the primary and cleared the field of viable opposition.
