Very much liking this guidance from the Country Court of Victoria which says "Judicial Officers must not use GenAI for judicial decision-making."
Judges use judgment. AI doesn't.

We had a snazzy new multi-use ladder delivered today, while Mr Jennie was in a meeting. He just saw it in the hall as he was going out.
Him: I have a ladder!
Me: It's not your real ladder though, is it?
Him: No, it's just my step ladder
Welcome to our world.
My essay for the Old Edinburgh Club and Edinburgh Libraries competition is out in the wild! If you're into the history of John Knox's grave markers (and frankly, who isn't) you can read it here

🚨New job alert 🚨
Want to feel like you're making a difference with your skills? Come and join a team of research support librarians working in the House of Commons. It's a great place to work and a really varied role. Full details: hrhoc.parliament.uk/ce0912li_web...
I'm all ready for my big outing to Glasgow for the @biall.org.uk conference tomorrow. Most of the library team are also going to be able to go this year too due to it being so close. Very exciting for us!
Might do my hair first...

I set up an account and was immediately locked out for the crime of trying to log in for the first time. Logged it as an issue a month ago (2 months after setup) - no response. I know at least one person who's put off their retirement as they can't model pension income. It's mindblowingly shambolic.

Not yet, but I might make a formal proposal.
Although to be fair, the wigs are naaaaaaaaaaasty and expensive to maintain so I think that the alternative proposal is that we get official law librarian jewellery. Maybe secret message rings, necklaces, or earrings?
