Doug Burgum was apparently at it again, being one of the primary attack dogs for the very sort of generation the Trump administration is actually pushing the country towards. On Newsmax, he again perpetuated the lie that solar power and solar-driven distribution somehow did not have a storage component, when he said: "Solar projects don't make any sense in the northern parts of our country, where there's less sunlight, more cloud" Now, I don't think Doug Burgum is entirely behind the times on energy knowledge per se. Like everyone else in that administration, he is a craven asshole who is beholden to a particular set of interests, as well as an obsessive desire to have power and a title, and even though he certainly knows better, he will spread the lies to keep both the money and the influence.
