Today, I’m kind of digging the heavy metal look of the Zeong from last year’s Gundam Next Future Pavilion CG animation! Forgot this was a thing.
Fun fact: Yoshii and the execs at Sunrise knew they had something big on their hands. A retelling of First Gundam, revered as it is, by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, revered as he is, was going to be a big deal. So, they were going to make arrangements to meet the expectations of fans.
Fun fact: After the financial disappointments that were Giant Gorg (1984) and Arion (1986), Sunrise executives were not keen on giving Yoshikazu Yasuhiko the reins of another project—and the feeling was mutual. However, time heals most wounds and any bad blood that existed eventually dissipated.

A few days late, but happy 5th anniversary to the first Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway movie! 🎂 Hopefully everyone will get the chance to see the second movie soon, with the third hopefully arriving before the 10th anniversary!
Learning that the exterior design for the (my beloved) Yamanote Line E235 trains was overseen by Ken Okuyama Design… the lure of painting a Gundam G40 in the green, black & silver color-way..
As previously announced, the life-size Unicorn Gundam statue will receive a decal update for its last 2 months before being decommissioned. From June 20th (this Sat!) until its last official day of Aug 31st. New decals are designed by original Unicorn designer, Hajime Katoki.
(The HG Gundam G40 was also designed by Ken Okuyama Design, in collaboration with Bandai’s internal team)
