Right now I'm tightening up the prose I already have; then I'll start writing new words. Because Jacen, Azhan, Ereka, Teranesa, and Niall have got work to do. The Dalken'ro aren't going to stop themselves, after all. Those guys are MEAN. So. Finish the book. Query agents. Send it out. 5/5
Maybe not the coolest guy, but definitely the coolest story I’ve found so far.
Just wrote and sent the most fraught email of my professional writing career. It’s not a career-breaking thing or anything. Just made me nervous. I’m always nervous when asking for things, and this is a big one. We’ll see what the publisher says.
He joined the Continental Army because they promised he’d be freed if they won. And the rest, as they say, is history. In later life he married and had a daughter, Lois Bilby, who married Stephen Johnston and later became my sixth-great grandmother.
If I had to guess, I'd say it's more to do with the fact my last book didn't perform very well than the quality. Which is normal; it was book 3 of a trilogy. But it could have been several other things I've thought of. Bottom line: Who cares? So I'm back to working on the science fantasy. 4/5
And it's GOOD. I mean, okay, this is my opinion, but the dialogue is good, the story is working, and I got to 28,000 words, so it's not crap. I only set it aside because I was sad the publisher didn't want it--but there are dozens of reasons a publisher might pass on a given book. 3/5
Shannon, one of my classmates at Viable Paradise 2017, is a great writer, and you should check this out!
