This, gen x and millennials insisting that all genre entertainment down to kids cartoons must appeal to them has been a disaster for creativity.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and I think it might be a good thing, though painful for aging millennials and gen Xers. Every generation should be free to find things in their own way, or ignore the old things and build stuff unburdened by the past.

I find the next generation of comic readers to be so detached from previous eras that always seemed to have a deeper reverence for the classic stories and the creators that made them. It's kind of weird to see so many young fans on social media for whom comics started at like the new 52.
