Thank you to our lovely audience members for braving the heat to make it to our concert on Saturday evening! We were thrilled to give the first performance of a new, authoritative edition of Vivanco’s ‘lost’ Requiem, reconstructed from manuscript sources as a complete and unified work.
Sebastián de Vivanco died #OTD in 1622. @davidallinson.bsky.social and Stephen Rice spoke to Continuo Connect about Vivanco’s mysterious and beautiful Requiem, and how we made the first ever recording of it. ⬇️ 💿 The CD launches on 9 January 📆
In our first open workshop of 2025—26, performer and researcher Alison Kinder will lead a marriage of voices and viols in glorious repertoire by Orlando Gibbons. Some places are still open for tenors and basses. Book yours here: www.renaissancesingers.com/workshops

Our next concert, conducted by @davidallinson.bsky.social , aims to dispel the cynicism of modern Christmastide with a mixture of superb motets, mass music and villancicos drawn from the Spanish golden age. Tickets from £13, free for under 21s. 🎟️ www.renaissancesingers.com/concerts
A hot but rewarding weekend recording polyphony by Sebastián de Vivanco and his Spanish contemporaries, conducted by @davidallinson.bsky.social. 😅 Our new CD is now in production and will be released by Toccata. The timing is to be confirmed, but may be early in 2026. #watchthisspace. 💿
Hear how English composers responded to the doctrinal turmoil of the 16th century in our next concert on 18 October, conducted by @davidallinson.bsky.social and illuminated in a pre-performance talk by Dr Kerry McCarthy. Tickets from £13, free for under 21s. 🎟️ www.renaissancesingers.com/concerts
