It’s worse than that - essentially they are using Nazi BS pseudoscience from the 30s which purported to be able to identify racial origins through the size and shape of the skull. Wired should call them out for what it is.
Yep - 2 teenage daughters, so acutely aware of the problems that do exist. I want a government that understands that blanket bans (on anything) rarely works. Making platforms legally responsible for their content would but that is ‘hard’ & ‘costly’
If I had a pound for every time a politician/senior policeman mentions encryption ’back doors’ or says something like ‘strong encryption enables CSAM’….
Yep: “I also need to make a fundamental point: Encryption either works for everyone or it works for no one. There is no way to have a golden key or a special backdoor or access just for the good guys.” When the tech industry has been asked for our opinion on this by HMG we gave the same response.
Very interesting (now having a 15 yr old with ADHD and a 13 yr old with autism (& me getting my ADHD diagnosis last year). The school experience resonates (although my daughter’s school is very good with an excellent SEND team) there are so many kids now completely out of mainstream education.
