It did bring something out, though. When they fight over the ghost—who we now know is Jamie—Frank promises Claire he’ll forgive her anything. He doesn’t stick to that promise, of course. Jamie does, though. Even if it takes him until Season 8 to really get over the John stuff, he gets there.
Visiting my hometown this week and when we passed the public library I said to my partner, “that’s where I discovered Outlander.” I think it was 2003? My JamieClaire obsession is about as old as my relationship.
I am knee deep in various fic outlines and preliminary notes and it shows: I just filled out a form that wanted me to identify pictures of bicycles to prove I’m not a robot. The next thing I heard in my head was Jamie in A. Malcolm asking “what is a bye-sickle?”
You know your current fic outlines are all over the place in tone and timeline when you’re watching bits of “Sassenach” and “Carnal Knowledge” in the same lunch break.
Went out to dinner for my wedding anniversary tonight and I got carded—not on my bingo card for things that would happen two months after I turned 40! Guess I’m remarkably well preserved, as JAMMF would say. (I did have collard greens and grits with my entree, so no scurvy risk either, lol).
Putting the finishing touches on this week’s drabble. And y’all, I know this is going to be shocking news, but Jamie really, really, really, loves Claire.
I was skimming Book 4’s bee hunt and then Book 6 and I am just here to report that when Ian confesses to Book!Claire he might be the father of Malva Christie’s baby, a bee lands on C and she wishes she could switch lives with it. So that symbolism has been in DG’s brain for more than a bit.
