There was a quote that said something like Black people worship a Jesus who knows what it's like to be lynched, while white people worship a Jesus who will forgive them for being part of a lynch mob.
America didn’t turn ugly because he became President. No.
He became President because America was already this ugly. That’s the uncomfortable truth nobody wants to admit.
Nobody likes a “things could be worse” politician. It ignores the struggles of the current reality with no promise for improvement.
