i think a very unhealthy mix of mentalities, largely stemming from news sources propping up child prodigies, has negatively affected peoples perception of skill and talent and whether theyre "late to the party" as it were you just gotta start, man

I saw a viral post like "if you haven't studied 3D all day all night since you were 14 then you're toast", meaning it completely sincerely. Lots of industry folks agreeing with them. I can only say that's not been my experience at all and it sucks to see talented people trying to kick the ladder.
