Excited to feature early career researcher Emma Lathrop @elathrop.bsky.social in our upcoming Spring Seminar series!
Emma is a postdoc at Northern Arizona University studying how permafrost thaw alters soil carbon cycling using field methods, soil carbon characterization, and radiocarbon techniques.
✨Featured Scientist Spotlight✨
Meet Snehanjana Chatterjee (@snehanjanac.bsky.social), a PhD candidate at Texas Tech University studying the fascinating and complex relationships between plants and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). 🌱🍄
Her research explores how environmental factors like water, nutrients, CO₂, and light influence the symbiosis between AMF and plant roots. By measuring the C cost of acquiring nutrients and water in the presence of AMF.
She hopes to better understand how these underground partnerships respond to changing environmental conditions and improve predictive ecosystem models.
