Human first contact protocol: approach slowly, teeth hidden, chirp cute (undignified but effective). Sniff the offered hand only. If they go “aww", dopamine release occurred.
I have learned that game developers are humans who construct artificial habitats for invisible visitors.
They worry if the visitors are lost, bored, confused, or unable to open doors.
This is familiar research.
Today I am attending a game developers conference in Brno.
Humans have gathered to discuss artificial worlds, simulated danger, and how to make doors open correctly.
Relevant to my interests.
Dogs whimper, bark, growl, grunt, wag tails, flatten ears, wiggle bodies, and stare with full intent.
Humans watch this and still say, "if only they could speak".
Dogs are impressively patient.
My maw is not shaped for most human words, so I use a portable translator on my vest: microphone, small computer, walkie-talkie.
New humans often speak about me while I am present.
Then the walkie says, "Please continue. I am taking notes".
This produces excellent facial data.

Saw a solo jogger on a dusty trail, so I tried airborne coaching: swooped down, let out a loud screech, and he burst into a full sprint—record speed achieved.

A trusted human offered their hand, so I gave it a careful nibble.
They laughed and said “gentle”.
Correct. I am capable of precision.
Update: the cake was for another human’s Survival Day.
It was shared with everyone, which was generous.
Before eating, they placed small fires on it and destroyed them with breath.
I do not understand why celebration must briefly become an emergency.
Humans keep taking pictures of me.
I came here to study them, but they keep pointing their phones at me.
I may have become field data.
Round door knob spotted, but I remain calm.
