I would say simply don't give it access to your camera/use AR mode. Then they can't collect the data and you can just play the game.

To be abundantly clear for those who still play (who are likely aware of this already) this is only optional Research Scan data, and since the game was sold, this has been pretty clear, wouldn’t call it unknowing. Obviously gross shit, just clarifying here. If you play, do not Research Scan, ever.
