The other thing that is, more selfishly, very upsetting is that I’ve dedicated three years of my life to training these fine editors. We poured so much time and resources into their growth and we were SO successful. The loss to our team is incalculable.
Feels like life took a hatchet to my friend group.
I am very sad thinking about my friends who in two weeks I will no longer have the joy of working alongside. A lot of the folks who are being laid off are not just my coworkers, they’re my close friends.
