If you want to hear me & a bunch of excellent literary minds discuss uncertainty in fiction, there’s still time to register for 4th St!
Flash criticism?
Not just short but concentrated/reduced in the way flash fiction is
But how to do it so it doesn’t feel like a bad imitation of Christgau’s Consumer Guide?
This discussion still has me thinking
Specifically: how to do criticism that is less than the huge essays that take a long time for me to write but is more than tossed off thoughts here but also isn’t a blog post or a review?
Something formal-ish but short that could be written in 40-60 minutes
I'm not much of a knitter, but I'm going to yap anyway.
Based on the quote from Nike in this article, it sounds like they tried to design these as single knit garments rather than cut and sewn from flat fabric. This can save a lot on material because there is much less waste.
RE: my last reskeet (QTing was restricted):
@abraham.bsky.social's Dagger and the Coin series is one of my all time favorites. It's no small feat to make a fantasy series where BANKING (and dragons) is the driving plot element. It's fantastic.
I recently learned from translators that:
In Turkish, the past tense can convey if the speaker witnessed something or only heard about it somehow.
In Vietnamese, one can do without tenses at all if one wishes, so the present can also mean the past or the future.

Lol. None of the three are The Scar so, wrong. Wrong regardless.

When I was doing my Present Writers series about writers we're lucky HADN'T retired, here is what I wrote about Jane: marissalingen.com/blog/?p=2267
I didn't do her first because I saved her for a month when I was busy, because I knew gushing about Jane would be easy on zero preparation.
