📣SOM has been puzzling scientists for 2 centuries. While still don't fully understand how and how long carbon cycles in soil, we're certainly getting closer.
Don't miss the next Soil Science Cluster WUR seminar with Prof. Ingrid Kögel-Knabner (TU Munich) & Dr. Katharina Meurer (SLU Uppsala) !🌱🌱
I'm looking for a post-doc to work on the interaction between past hydrological changes and vegetation in a disturbed peatland, using paleoecological and modelling approaches. The post-doc duration is 18 months and start date is any time before Jan 2027. DM if you are interested / have questions! 🌿🧪
🌳Check Our new study based on ForestGEO and CForBio: Conserving plant diversity is critical for enhancing carbon sequestration and mitigating the effects of climatic conditions, particularly in cold climates and regions facing an increase in arid conditions.
Canadian black spruce potential productivity increased until the mid-1980s, then stagnated across much of its range The 2023 drought caused severe regional declines in black spruce potential prod...
I finally got round to updating my website! Following in the footsteps of reproducible research pioneers, I've gone for Quarto, a flexible framework for scientific writing and publication, with support for citations and embedded code that actually runs 🎉 robinlovelace.net/posts/2026-0...

Many climate models omit the permafrost carbon–climate feedback. In this new paper we show that inlcuding it can increase Earth system tipping risks, especially in overshoot scenarios with peak temperatures below 3°C or peak cumulative emissions of below 2000 PgC.
