I like kombat but prefer other systems for it. Warhammer 40k and Chronicles of Darkness using different singular dice offer elegance alongside simplicity, which helps keep kombat from being a slog.
it's funny to read the "kids don't like old games because they look like doo-doo" spiel again because in my experience as both former kid and present uncle, incuriosity is not a thing kids are famous for having that's more of problem with adults.
