One of the biggest challenges in cancer research is effective cancer prevention. The ATLAS team is exploring how the body’s natural defences may help prevent cancer from developing in the first place. By studying people who avoid cancer despite age, genetics or lifestyle risk factors, researchers hope to uncover what makes these ‘cancer avoiders’ different. The team believes antibodies could hold an important part of the answer.
