Socmed did more in that part. Fics did nothing. I'm not popular (thankgod) but going by numbers at least a freak or two should have reached out to me by now and none of that happened. Commenters come and go, some follow me with a silent profile /2
And im just wondering if it's a me thing, or is it another change in fandom culture through the years? It's just weird to me bc literally everyone has a story how they've found a friend through fics...? Maybe it's me lol (that's fine too)

So I started posting fics around a year ago and I remember being excited not only bc my wip folder would decrease finally, but bc everyone and their grandmother said that's the way to make friends. (This is not a vent btw) and I find it very curious how I made a total number of zero friends. /1
