Admittedly, I'm very new to this. My specialty is making parts. Any helpful tips to help me get started would be super appreciated!

So I tried some of the suggestions to bring the base a little bit closer to the front of my mannequin head. I had to cut out a section of foam at the top to achieve this. Right now, I have a temporary piece of EVA foam there. The base is practically resting on the face of the mannequin head now.
And if I were to go with the open back and liner only method, there's this massive gap between the head and the base. I know the inside of the cast will need to be lined but this gap creates a bit of a problem when considering I need to attach it to the part of the liner that goes around the head.
Big pawbs~ Trade with @moonelmalito.bsky.social !
