NEW: Took a stab at some pre-tournament predictions on the @sport.theguardian.com's panel. Who will win, Golden Boot, teams and players that could surprise, how far the co-hosts will advance, and the like. www.theguardian.com/football/202...
… on the face of it this seems like a mad decision given when Edwards came in, Wolves were already a lost cause and the task clearly was to restore pride and plan for a promotion push next season. He largely did the first and no doubt had done a lot of the second. And now he’s gone. As said, mad.
… ultimately it will be fine and really enjoyable because, ultimately, the World Cup always is. And that’s the problem - corruption, sewer-level morals, logistical issues, fans treated appallingly … nothing stops this thing being the greatest show on earth. I know it, you know it … Gianni knows it.
Infantino chatting shit, storms delaying kick-offs by an hour, no signs just yet that this World Cup isn’t indeed going to be a total and utter shitshow.
… oh, and he has very recent experience of getting a team promoted from the Championship. He’s also guaranteed to keep married housewives coming to Molineux. What have you done Wolves?!
