Result? UV-visible reflectance plays nicely together, but visible-near IR breaks the rules. And does so differently across taxa. Visual signals and thermal properties don’t have to be on speaking terms.
So we checked this using reflectance data across UV, visible, and near‑infrared from 300+ species (🐦🐻 🐊 🐍🐢🕷️🥚)
