Effective organizing happens everyday at the neighborhood level. Bus benches aren’t the sexiest issue in the world but they do change lives and reduce car dependency. Most importantly, you can replicate them.

metro vancouver gets it - there's plenty all-day bus routes every 15-30 minutes that connect people to nature, like the one we took!
