Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is announcing today the opening of a 75-unit enhanced tiny house shelter for people experiencing homelessness, located in the Interbay neighborhood.
The facility is a part of Wilson’s plan to open 1,000 new shelter beds per year, with 300 beds announced so far in 2026.

12th Ave is the main route for me, my wife, and our children to bike from our home at Dearborn / Rainier to Capitol Hill. It’s so dangerous that we mostly bike on the sidewalk. We desperately need a protected bike lane the full length of the 12th.
And no more Sweet Alchemy I guess, including the Capitol Hill location
I lost my helmet & GoPro because I was distracted by the view from my first ride on the 2 line. Anyone have suggestions on whether I should replace my helmet cam with a GoPro Max/Max2 to get 360 video of the reckless driving I regularly encounter?
Tax breaks for big corporations do not protect jobs. Meta eliminated more jobs in Bellevue than in Seattle, which has two business payroll taxes (JumpStart and Social Housing Prop 1A).

The only item on this ballot was I-135 from @houseourneighbors.bsky.social to create the Seattle Social Housing Developer. @suresh.com demonstrated on stage at an event we held at Neumos that it took less than 2 minutes to vote for this important housing measure.

So this is weird. When Suresh and I talked on the phone on May 16, I told him I voted to impose the payroll tax for social housing. He said “OK” and moved on. Only 1A (which I voted for) imposed a payroll tax, as Suresh knows.
