The idea reached Boston Mayor John B, Hynes' office, and on June 11, 1951, Mayor Hynes officially dedicated the Freedom Trail. Today, millions of people from around the world explore the trail during their visit to Boston!
Margaret Coffin died in 1855, and one year later, the Margaret Coffin Prayer Book Society was formed using money left in her estate. The society continues to provide Prayer Books and hymnals to missions and institutions.
