I don't like that "diabolical" has turned from a word with linguistic flourish to something everyone uses to describe anything mildly amusing. some words are fun to say because you deploy them rarely. we are rapidly approaching vernacular homogeneity

hey. our cat is recovering well post-op, but she's going to need chemotherapy to maximize her quality of life. a full recovery is unlikely, but we're doing our best to make her comfortable. we've unpaused the fundraiser because it's going to be very expensive. any little bit is helpful. thank you.
there are enough resources in this world that everyone can be happy and live comfortably. some people think they deserve to have more than their share. a few people think they should have enough for entire nations. we have to fix this.
