IMO Avatars in fire emblem always end up warping the game in either a story or a gameplay sense. Most avatars are some of the best units in their respective game (Kris, Robin, Corrin, Byleth). I get why IS adds them: easy self insert to learn the world and a way for fans to start shipping lol 2/4
