G’day! This is the first of our weekly Parks Celebration Post. Each Sunday we will be posting about a conservation/national/recreational park from around Australia.
To kick off, is Anstey Hill, South Australia. A park that was earmarked as a theme park without the dedicated community who saved it!
Anstey Hill has become an oasis for the flora and fauna of the Mount Lofty Region of Adelaide. Home to a large population of Kangaroos, growing numbers of Koalas, and a diverse array of native orchids. The park caters for all fitness levels, thanks to the converted mine cart routes.
A special shout-out to Save Our Wildlife Foundation Inc (SOWFI), for their help in directing me to the proper veterinary care.
Found a lost baby brushtail possum on today’s hike, wrote down the location and time I found them, then the vets did the rest (happy to say he was healthy, just lost) 🌿
If you ever come across injured or lost wildlife only approach them if deemed safe.
