We're so looking forward to tomorrow! ✨ Our vision for #StrongerThings has always been to create a much-needed space to explore and learn about the great work that is going on across the country, connect with other changemakers, find friends, and recharge our batteries for the work to come.
👋 A range of exhibitions sparked interesting conversations and gave everyone a chance to take a deep dive into the work of our partners.
In his keynote address for #StrongerThings, Rt Hon Steve Reed OBE MP, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, recognised that community power is already driving change in places across the country and setting out how national government intends to support that work.
💡 There’s already so much great work happening across our membership and beyond. Communities are creative and resilient. Across the country, councils, community organisations and residents are already building stronger relationships, sharing power and finding new ways to improve outcomes.
Here are some of the highlights that stood out: ✨ It all comes back to relationships. Whether it's how services are delivered, how policy is designed, or how communities are built. Social capital isn't just a concept, it's what happens when relationships are nurtured at every level.

⚡Last, but not least, community power movement is growing and maturing acting as a catalyst for exploring how we design and deliver public services around the lived experience of people accessing support. What was your highlight of the day?
Yesterday was all about community, hope and togetherness. 🫶 #StrongerThings, our annual festival of #communitypower, brought together hundreds of boldest thinkers from public services, the third sector and beyond to shape conversations that matter.💡 Thank you all for joining us!
We're excited to hear from our brilliant speakers and partners. See you at Guildhall and online! 🙌 In-person tickets are sold out, but you can still catch our live stream: www.newlocal.org.uk/st26-online/
🎵 We heard powerful stories of connection, confidence and community from Coventry’s lived experience choir. @choirwithnoname.bsky.social took the stage to close this year’s edition of Stronger Things with a performance leaving us all full of hope.
Steve built on the themes of the essay he published with us yesterday morning, highlighting that the future lies in recognising and building on those strengths "to do justice to the pioneers leading this work across Britain". Read the essay here: www.newlocal.org.uk/articles/com...
