Wallace easily the best since 2010, but that's mainly a mark on how terrible the others were. Could say the same of Robertson for Labour since 1998 as his successors were so profoundly bad, presiding directly over lives being lost in two wars due to poor equipment.
Good scoop here from @alexmartin.bsky.social on UK watering down proposed telecom rules meant to respond to Salt Typhoon. Both the US and the UK have now done this, and the underlying reason behind both decisions is the same:

Definitely neither of those could be considered to have had a successful time in office though. Before them? I guess Younger avoided major cuts before the Wall came down, but that's arguably just not being very bad. Lord Carrington then?
Disclosure Day 🛸
Watched it yesterday evening. A solid 3/5.
Good: Spielberg (with Kaminski as DoP) delivers absolutely beautiful, hooking cinema. Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor are great. It is a more serious attempt to address some big themes and questions around the whole aliens thing.
Bad...
Who was the last Defence Secretary who could arguably be considered to have had a successful time in office?
I might be biased as I think Ufology is silly, but imho the attempt fails. The writing is weak, both of the plot in which aliens have been covered up, and the narrative about the disclosure. The grey aliens themselves look absolutely ridiculous. It's fun to have seen. I'm unlikely to ever rewatch.
Scoop: Britain has weakened proposed cybersecurity protections for its telecoms networks that were developed in response to the Salt Typhoon espionage campaign, after the companies responsible for implementing the measures lobbied against them.
