Only just learned that they covered up the removal of Trump’s name with a tarp. Comically undignified behavior.
Seeing alternate explanations for the tarp and, as I know nothing about construction work, fair. That said, Trump is singularly obsessed with optics & spectacle as evidenced by the whole illegally-slapping-his-name-on-the-Kennedy-Center thing, so perhaps we can understand people’s kneejerk reaction.
Been thinking about this constantly for a long time now and the fact that this reality is not reflected in mainstream media narratives about Musk goes a long way in explaining where we are.

Speaking of the Kennedy Center thing, I got together yesterday with three people who, when I said that Trump’s name should be coming down imminently, asked me, “For real this time?” They had all seen (and one had shared) an AI video on FB purporting to show the removal. This feels like…a problem.
