Only just learned that they covered up the removal of Trump’s name with a tarp. Comically undignified behavior.
Seeing alternate explanations for the tarp and, as I know nothing about construction work, fair. That said, Trump is singularly obsessed with optics & spectacle as evidenced by the whole illegally-slapping-his-name-on-the-Kennedy-Center thing, so perhaps we can understand people’s kneejerk reaction.
Been thinking about this constantly for a long time now and the fact that this reality is not reflected in mainstream media narratives about Musk goes a long way in explaining where we are.
It's been 100 days since the US reportedly bombed a girls school in Iran, killing 100+ kids. I pressed members of Congress on what they're doing in response to one of the most horrific war crimes in modern US history.
Some didn't even know about it.
And some just didn't care:
I don't have words for the revulsion I feel toward Elon Musk.
For another look at how Bari Weiss has peddled fascist propaganda, read this, on Trump’s remaking of the U.S. refugee resettlement program to solely benefit white South Africans
Speaking of the Kennedy Center thing, I got together yesterday with three people who, when I said that Trump’s name should be coming down imminently, asked me, “For real this time?” They had all seen (and one had shared) an AI video on FB purporting to show the removal. This feels like…a problem.

Co-sign. That this monster is on cusp of becoming trillionaire via IPO built on fraud is sickening: Enron Musk. Chainsaw-wielding sociopath has nonchalantly hurt so many ppl, is obviously deranged—that he’s lionized & not shunned as total pariah is another moral indictment of our social structures.
In his first interview since being kicked out of the US, FIFA referee Omar Artan tells’s the NYT’s Matt Bigg that the biggest dream of his professional life has been shattered. The World Cup ref was questioned for 11 hours, held in a cell and then dumped on a plane.
