I came to bsky not even really being that big of an AI supporter but dear god everyone in bsky #gamedev is so far removed from reality. Social media posters are causing more damage to Game Dev than AI layoffs could possibly do
It's a tragedy that bsky #gamedev is absent of professionals who pay bills with their game development. Instead its filled with LARPing losers who like the idea of being a game dev and armchair general worse than the gamergate youtube comment sections.
There are not hidden gems sitting at 25k sales that would be selling 2mil+ copies if they just "went viral"

There is endless discovery for games with the thousands of content creator. The games that have that chance, they make it.
I'd concede he is a far better writer than I. I feel vindicated for having this impression:
"The sloppiness of the numbers he uses, plus lack of analysis to infer from filings makes him unapproachable. When I read his work, he deliberate writes in a way to depict a certain amount of hopelessness...
Stephen Totilo's new article about EA's CEO compensation fits perfectly into the characterization I had already illustrated. Despite invoking SEC filings, he seems unwilling or unable to make accurate inferences from them

It's fun to see people critizing the narrative of "it's more than 30 game devs that made this" for Clair Expedition.
But will then turnaround and glorify Hideo Kojima as if he's god's gift to game design and completely pretend like he doesn't have an army of devs doing all of the work
BlueSky's #gamedev twitter is distraught because the guy who worked to put it together is adding some ads to recoup costs/time and to be able to make future improvements.
Naturally 99% of the people are distraught because if the feed earns a single dollar it will outperform their game revenues
I couldn't have described his channel any more accurately myself
