Indeed, there's good reason to believe that warfare doesn't just predate agriculture, but that it predates *humans* - Chimpanzees in the wild engage in warfare.
Clearly defined groups, territorial patrols, ambushes, even formations (single file patrol groups).
Not all primates war, but some do! 5/
