Well, the Doctor Who news is disappointing but not entirely unexpected, given the state of the BBC and the UK TV industry in general.
Rough year for franchised SF ain't it?
This is the first time since 1963 that both Doctor Who AND Star Trek have had no new episodes in production.
Can't beat royal mail notifying you that your property is inaccessible to deliver mail. Except it isn't. If you're gonna lie pick something I can't prove by just leaving the house.
I'd love to see @manmademoon.bsky.social or JMS on for Doctor Who. Give us someone that knows SF, UK culture and how to tell a bloody good story. Story is the most important thing.
2023: "Doctor Who, no gap years, lots of content, on and on and on. Yes please!” - Russell T Davies 2026: "The BBC will put Doctor Who out to competitive tender this year. The previously announced new animation series for CBeebies is in production." - BBC Press Office www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/...
Other than the paint on the feet instantly transfering to the base this might be the perfect figure. No notes
"For the record: there was no script. I never wrote it." - Russell T Davies So this was a big fat fucking lie then.
Amazing how Doctor Who fans can read a statement that says "This year we're looking to commission a new series of Doctor Who" and interpret it as "Doctor Who has been cancelled"
