Product designer living and working in Vienna. Kicked PDF SDK UI standards up a notch, improved regulated software development tools, helped friends create Audio Plugins and Synths and drew hundreds and hundreds of icons in the process. Open for work.

I wish this whole thread would be something that more designers and executives would simply understand just by reading it. For a lot of them wanting to be the one who "redid the whole thing" is the big motivation, and they have to do a cycle of rebranding, tanking sales, and backtracking to learn.
Ja, klar, Google, mit 7 habe ich einen Sohn bekommen. 😵‍💫
I often write out people’s names by hand, even though I get distracted easily and have to re-check 2-3 times, because it helps me learn the names and that, to me, is a sign of respect. (Also doesn’t bother me if someone mistypes mine as Sami or Summer — unless they’re trying to sell me something.)
The natural progression from last year’s “AI helped me build a design system” LinkedIn palooza where people kept posting screenshots of a button that had 4992 variants and styles for H1-H5 tags. It’s horrifying thinking that that’s where the industry is at right now.
A lot of designers are worried about Claude pooping out layouts or whatever, instead of the fact there's no reason to have designers if there's no downside to being shitty to customers and workers. If quality or usability or more efficient processes aren't an advantage, you can just do whatever.
“I like looking at raw text” is going to become a top dating profile line before 2026 is over, mark my words.
