you should engage with fandoms because there's something there you love, and i understand the urge to protect it from slop, but truly this is simply not the way. it does far more damage than good over something that is just impossible to prove.

i'm very against AI generated fics. i don't believe they are legitimate fanfiction and i don't want to engage with any of them. THAT BEING SAID, whatever you think you're achieving by harassing authors accusing them of AI, it is simply not worth destroying entire fandoms.
you shouldn't harass authors accusing them of AI gen fics if they deny it.
at best: you're right, they deny it, people will make their own decisions to read or drop it, the fandom is super hostile.
at worst: you're wrong, and you're discouraging real authors from writing more.
this is an incredibly niche thing to fake. people aren't making millions of dollars out of fanfiction, nobody is farming that popularity into meaningful things if all they wrote was generated with AI. at least for now they'll get fake internet points and call it a day.
while i wish those fake internet points weren't given at all, you just have to ask yourself if withholding them is worth making the entire fandom a completely hostile place for real authors who want to share their work with you.
