In theory the point the sun is highest in the sky should be at noon (12 pm). However due to daylight saving and countries like China with only one time zone noon can actually be as late as 3pm. This #dataviz shows the sun's highest point in the day as the year progresses.
Here in the UK March has been warmer and sunnier than average. It has been very wet in the west of Scotland and north-west England and dry elsewhere. Here is a climate/weather #dataviz summary for the past year.

Come March, the buds on the tree's begin to burst, this #dataviz shows the timing of bud burst for different tree species across the UK. The black lines show the timing in the Spring for the years 2000 to 2025 and the blue line is the average day for that species.

We use 30 year averages to show climatology (average weather conditions). During the 20th century the UK climatology followed a path around a confined box. With #globalwarming and #climatechange they have escaped out the box. This #dataviz shows UK rainfall and temperature.

In the UK we have just seen extreme heat at the end of May with temperatures reaching 35°C for the first time, more than 2°C higher than previous highs. Overall the spring has been warm (in England the warmest on record), it has also been dry and sunny (except west Scotland). #climatechange #dataviz
