I see the “Iran needs missiles” taking points have gone out. Consistent with my prediction that Trump could get most of his party in Congress to swallow anything.
Talarico: When we win, the first bill I’m filing is a comprehensive anti-corruption package: Overturn Citizens United Ban corporate PACs and super PACs Ban members of Congress from trading stocks Once we defeat the most corrupt politician in America, we can defeat this corrupt system.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.
If only these Senators had some constitutional authority beyond whining.
Is this the SINGLE WORST presidential response in history? I know he holds the top 100, but this feels like the gold to me.
I get the impulse to "Leopards, faces, etc" these stories. But doing so misses a much bigger and more important point: The nation's largest, most powerful GOP state organization has gone all-in on unfiltered hatred - to the point that it stunned those who've spent their life confronting such hate.
Hard to recall a time when U,S. leaders and institutions have looked so pathetic, so full of rot, on the world stage. Jimmy Carter deserves a wholehearted apology.
Elon Musk's incitement of pogroms in Belfast reveals he'll use his immense wealth and influence to foment untold fascist violence in the future. Only a global movement can break his power. New piece from @polphilpod.bsky.social and me. Threading highlights below. 1/ newrepublic.com/article/2119...
there needs to be a coordinated global effort among democracies to destroy this man's financial and social media empires and leave him impoverished and powerless

New —> Senate Republicans grow increasingly frustrated with Trump blindsiding them “Trump has used his clout to knock out senators in primaries, issue unachievable demands and force them into politically fraught positions. Some say it’s harming his own agenda.” www.nbcnews.com/politics/con...
NYT: Can you now say whether you will hold anyone in your administration accountable for the strike on a school that killed more than 100 children? TRUMP: No. It's such a strange question to be asked. It's a long time ago. Mistakes are made. I would ask Pete Hegseth that question.
NEW: I spent last week with Muslim Republicans - including the founder of CAIR Texas - as they tried to confront hate at the Texas GOP convention. It was a constant stream of anti-Muslim bigotry, a preview of what America will look like should Christian nationalists get their way.
Trump: "Nobody plays rougher than the United States. Look, our elections are totally rigged. We have rigged elections."
