It’s not easy for a leading American official to screw up a D-Day commemoration ceremony in Normandy. With his ugly anti-immigrant remarks, Pete Hegseth managed to find a way to do it anyway. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...
I think both points can be true: - John Bolton broke the law and mishandled classified docs - Trump’s weaponized DOJ went after Bolton in the first place because the president told it to Trump effectively admitted the latter point today, saying he “helped” with the case. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...

This wasn’t CPAC or a conservative media interview; these were prewritten remarks from a U.S. defense secretary at a solemn event.

Hegseth faces pushback after voicing anti-immigrant message at D-Day commemoration
The president, unprompted, boasted that he “helped” with the case against his former national security advisor, “from the standpoint of encouragement.”

Here’s a trend I’d love to hear the White House explain: Average monthly job growth in the runup to Trump’s tariffs: 72,000 Average monthly job growth during Trump’s tariffs: -4,900 Average monthly job growth in the aftermath of Trump’s tariffs: 188,000 www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...
As outlandish as this might seem, Trump has now extended clemency to almost all of the Republican congressmen convicted of felonies in the 21st century. The latest pardon was issued late Friday night, when the White House hoped it’d go unnoticed. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...
For just under $12,000, you too can buy a Trump-branded gold “medallion,” “designed” by the president, celebrating the UFC’s White House event. This is not to be confused with Trump-branded shoes, guitars, Bibles, watches, digital trading cards, or phones. #grift www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...
Of course Triggered Trump abandoned his MTP interview: Kristen Welker used the one word that practically causes a presidential allergic reaction: “Evidence.” www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...
Aside from the obvious, Republican conspiracy theories about the California elections seem to suffer from one fatal flaw: If nefarious Democratic schemers existed and were secretly orchestrating the results from the shadows, they wouldn’t have picked these outcomes. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...
On issue after issue: - national security - 2020 election - undocumented immigrants casting votes - California primaries Mike Johnson has said “instincts” and “intuition” are a legitimate substitute for knowledge. They are not. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo...
Trump has clashed with so many AGs (Bondi, Barr, Sessions, Yates). Why is Blanche different? They agree on what an AG should be: part puppet, part weapon, and part cheerleader. Blanche doesn’t want to be our attorney general; he wants to be Trump’s attorney general. Those are 2 very different jobs.

Immediately after the Supreme Court struck down the White House’s tariffs, the job market bounced back. That’s probably not a coincidence.
Trump finds yet another former Republican lawmaker to reward with a pardon
Improved job numbers make Trump’s trade tariffs look even worse

Trump-branded UFC ‘medallions’ go on sale ahead of scheduled White House match
On election claims, Trump triggered by ‘evidence’ callout on ‘Meet the Press’ interview

What we’re dealing with is a political leader who believes gut feelings are a legitimate substitute for knowledge. They are not.

Republicans’ California election conspiracy theories suffer from one fatal flaw
Speaker Mike Johnson says his election conspiracy theories feel ‘instinctively’ true
Blanche has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be the American people’s attorney general; he wants to be Trump’s attorney general.

Being Trump’s attorney general is an awful job. Todd Blanche apparently doesn’t care.

On the one hand, Hegseth is using his office to advance a Christian nationalist agenda. On the other hand, his Pentagon isn’t just elevating one faith tradition, it’s also demoting other faith traditions, slashing the number of religions the Defense Department officially recognizes.
The defense secretary has spent most of his tenure drifting from one culture war priority to another. Evidently, he hasn’t gotten to the end of his list.
