I'm sure Nintendo is looking at opportunities for synergy, but people seem to be reducing it down to "Oh, Illumination is putting Star Fox into the Mario Galaxy movie? Quick, call up Velan Studios and have them remake the N64 game so we can get it on shelves." No way it works like that.
I feel like the big question here is: Who is making this? Is this the core Zelda team doing a significant re-envisioning of this landmark game and taking it to new places? Or is this an outside developer just doing a straightforward remake like Link's Awakening, Star Fox, etc.?
Nintendo didn't even make a new Mario game around the Mario Galaxy movie. It's clear that having Mario Galaxy 1+2 on shelves to capitalize on renewed interest in Mario Galaxy was a calculated move, but that's a Wii port. A "remake" like Star Fox is still an entire-ass new video game.
I just really want to note how amazing this is. Barbie x Atari!
