Our discussions took place a little over a year since Polish government „reinterpreted” the right to international protection, and suspended the right to claim international protection at the Belarusian border.
I'm having a very interesting week at the Polish/Belarus border learning about the border wall, the suspension of asylum, and the work of activists in the forests. Researchers at the border made this brilliant map which can be used as a tool for teaching on this borderzone mapa.bbng.org/en

We talked at the annual conference of Committee on Migration Research of Polish Academy of Science abt ongoing humanitarian crisis on Poland-Belarus border, especially after the suspension of right to asylum, introduced by the pro-european & liberal Civic Coalition. All quiet on the Eastern border.

We brought the discussion abt the EU-Belarus border to @associationruta.bsky.social annual conference, where we shared the reflections on hostile environment & whiteness on the border during the ongoing humanitarian crisis and ethnographic walk in the borderland as a research method
